* The AVA National Sand Volleyball Championships will be held Saturday and Sunday at Santa Barbara’s East Beach.
Men and women can compete in divisions at every skill level. Registration is at 8 a.m., competition begins at 9 a.m.

* Registration for American Roundball Corp. instructional basketball academy for boys and girls grades 1-8 will be held Saturday at the following locations and times:
North Hollywood High (9 a.m.), Olive Recreation Center in Burbank (11 a.m.) and at Camarillo High (4 p.m.).

* The Chad Foundation is hosting its third annual volleyball tournament Sept. 21 at Lakeside Country Club in Toluca Lake.
Participants are welcome.

* A free amateur fight night boxing show is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sept. 12 at Lanark Recreation Center in Canoga Park.
All USA Boxing Inc. clubs and registered novice boxers are invited to participate in the exhibition, sanctioned by USA Boxing and sponsored by the Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks Department.
