7 Get Prison Terms in Election-Fraud Case

DUBLIN, Ga. — Seven people have been sentenced to prison for buying votes in what has been called Georgia’s biggest election-fraud case. U.S. District Judge Dudley H. Bowen also sentenced four others to probation Thursday.
Two elections in Dodge County were thrown out last year after a judge ruled there had been voting fraud that included ballots cast by convicted felons and at least one dead person.
The 11 people sentenced were among 21 people accused in a federal indictment issued in February charging that some voters were driven to the courthouse and paid between $20 and $60 for their votes.
