One man was being held in County Jail in Ventura following a suspected gang-related drive-by shooting during the weekend.
The shooting occurred about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 5500 block of Perkins Road near Cuesta Del Mar Drive in south Oxnard.
Oxnard Police Officer Mark Harris said Sammy Morales, 24, and Valentino Morales, 21, both of Oxnard, were arrested after they allegedly fired shots at rival gang members while driving in a 1994 Honda Accord. It was not immediately known if the two are related.
No one was injured in the shooting, Harris said.
Officer Mary Ennis pulled over the Honda and found a loaded .38-caliber handgun inside, authorities said.
Valentino Morales was released.
On Monday, Sammy Morales was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail on suspicion of discharging a firearm with negligence, said a jail spokeswoman.
The investigation was continuing.
