University, Junior; Cross-Country
Marquand, one of the top runners in the county, won her race at the Laguna Hills Invitational for the second consecutive season, winning the Division I junior/senior race in 17 minutes 55 seconds over the three-mile course. Marquand finished 40 seconds faster than second-place finisher Melissa Livermore of Irvine.

* Laguna Beach, junior. Had 23 kills to help the Artists rally to defeat Fountain Valley, 11-15, 6-15, 15-11, 15-13, 15-13.
Marie Leyrer/Cross-Country
* Villa Park, senior. Won the Las Vegas Invitational, finishing the 2 1/2-mile course in 16:45 at Henderson (Nev.) Basic High.
Tracy Lindquist/Volleyball/Setter
* Ocean View, junior. Helped the Seahawks finish second at the Fountain Valley tournament and earned all-tournament honors.
