Stand in Final Seconds Lifts Harvard-Westlake

North Hollywood High’s final drive stalled at the Harvard-Westlake 16-yard line as time expired and the Wolverines held on to beat their cross-town rivals, 26-19, Friday in a nonleague game at North Hollywood.
Trailing by seven, North Hollywood’s final drive ended when quarterback Vadim Valcu mistakenly spiked the ball on fourth down with two seconds remaining.
Justin Logan rushed 21 times for 213 yards, including touchdown runs of 19 and 22 yards.
Trailing, 3-0, after one quarter, Harvard-Westlake scored 19 unanswered points before North Hollywood’s Oscar Mendoza ran 27 yards for a touchdown to close the gap to 19-11 at halftime.
Mendoza rushed 29 times for 213 yards.
