Antelope Valley 33, Barstow 27--Quarterback Justin Mobley rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another, all in the first half, as the Antelopes (1-1) jumped on Barstow early at Antelope Valley.
In a game of halves, the first belonged to Antelope Valley--which out-gained Barstow, 216 yards to 52. The Antelopes scored on their first four possessions, helped in large part by two recoveries of errant laterals, on their way to a 33-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Antelope Valley lost 59 yards while Barstow (1-1) gained 191, giving the Aztecs a 243-147 yardage advantage for the game.
Mobley carried 11 times, gaining 67 yards and scoring on runs of nine and six yards. He completed four of 10 passes for 72 yards, including a nine-yard touchdown pass to Joe Manning.
