Junior running back Jesse Kirk rushed for 234 yards in 21 carries and scored on runs of 94 and 54 yards to lead St. Bonaventure High over Nordhoff, 27-9, in a nonleague football game Friday night at Nordhoff.
Kirk’s 94-yard run was on the Seraphs’ first play from scrimmage.
The game was a rematch of last season’s Southern Section Division X final, also won by St. Bonaventure, 18-14, on the same field.
Sophomore running back Bebop Lopez’s two-yard run following a Chris Lombardo field goal in the second quarter put the Seraphs (2-1) up, 15-0, at the half.
Lombardo, who completed 10 of 15 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown, connected with tight end Chris Elliott early in the third quarter to increase St. Bonaventure’s lead to 21-0.
Nordhoff (2-1) scored midway through the third quarter on a 19-yard pass play from Brandon Titus to running back Joey Briglio.
Briglio carried 21 times for 97 yards to pace Nordhoff.
