Earth Day will be celebrated at San Clemente State Beach two Saturdays this month with a celebration of Native American heritage and a community beach clean-up.
“Native Americans--The First Keepers of the Earth” is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 18. It will include Native American games, storytelling, crafts and a presentation by Abel Silvas, a Juaneno storyteller.
The beach clean-up at 225 Avenida Alafia will be from 8 a.m. to noon on April 25. The public is invited to help repair damage from the winter’s storms.
The events are sponsored by the state Department of Parks and Recreation.
