FULLERTON — A 26-year-old man, upset because he had no job and unpaid medical bills, suffered minor injuries after he jumped off an overpass onto the southbound Orange Freeway on Wednesday night, police said.
The man, who lives in Fullerton, rode a bike to the highest point of the Yorba Linda Boulevard overpass, Fullerton Police Lt. Danny Becerra said. Once there he climbed over the railing, hung down and dropped onto the two slow lanes. No vehicles hit him. Motorists stopped, carried the man to the side of the freeway and called police, Becerra said.
Becerra estimated the overpass was 25 feet high.
The man complained of back pain before being taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for treatment.
