Banker Joins Wellness Group as Fund-Raiser

To raise money for its new and ongoing support programs for cancer patients and their families, the Wellness Community Valley/Ventura has asked Agoura mortgage banker Alex Soteras to head its Community Support Campaign for 1998.
The nonprofit organization hopes to raise more than $100,000 from foundations, corporations and individuals in its service area, which stretches from Santa Barbara to the western San Fernando Valley and includes all Ventura County.
The Wellness Community provides psychological, social and emotional support groups and programs without charge to cancer patients and their families.
Soteras, who serves on the alumni board of Pepperdine University, is a trustee of the $22-billion Los Angeles County pension fund, an appointment made by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
