BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Two little girls “cooked to death” in their car seats in 80-degree heat while the two men who were taking care of them went off to look for arrowheads and mushrooms.
Sidney Pippin, who was 4 months old, and a cousin, Vicky Fraley, 16 months, died during the eight hours they were left alone Saturday.
Ricky Leon Crisp, 23, and Justin Griffith, 27, were charged with first-degree murder. Crisp is Vicky’s father.
The windows of the car were rolled up, and the two girls were strapped in their car seats, prosecutor Brad Butler said. “They were literally cooked to death,” Sheriff Andy Lee said.
