A California Highway Patrol officer was bitten while attempting to take a stray dog into custody in Anaheim, police said.
Officer Chris Johnson received eight puncture wounds on both sides of his right forearm from the Labrador-German shepherd mix at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the 90 block of Weir Canyon Road, police said.
Johnson was taken to US Health Works Medical group in Orange, where he received treatment for minor wounds.
The dog, which lacked identification, will be quarantined by Orange County Animal Control for at least two weeks while it is tested for rabies, police said.
