Snitches Versus the Silent Types
* The Times of July 29 seems to contradict itself.
Columnist Mike Downey berates Monica Lewinsky and all snitches in general for not being loyal to their buddies no matter what they do.
Whereas columnist Dana Parsons in the Metro section is scandalized at the ethics of Jeremy Strohmeyer’s buddies for not squealing on him when he allegedly killed the little girl in Nevada.
Is there some inconsistency here, or is this just “Times-speak”? Maybe Downey and Parsons should have a little talk.

* Is it ironic? On the same day you have Dana Parsons in one corner damning some high school students for a “troubling code of silence,” while in another column your Mike Downey chastises Monica Lewinsky with the terms snitch, backstabber and stool pigeon.
