* Total games lost: 264.
* Projected player salary losses (through Jan. 15): $430 million.
* Earliest estimated date season can start: Jan. 15.
* Today’s best canceled game: Detroit at Seattle. If anybody can stop Grant Hill from driving to the basket, it’s Gary Payton. He would have had a chance in this nationally televised game.
