No. 1 Album Is Strictly Local

You won’t find Southern California’s top-selling album last week anywhere on the Billboard sales chart. Under the magazine’s policy, “Santa’s Swingin’ Sack,” a charity compilation put together by KROQ-FM’s Kevin & Bean, doesn’t qualify for the chart because it’s sold through only one retailer. The album, which features such acts as Blink 182 and Save Ferris, sold about 41,000 copies, which would have placed it No. 55 on last week’s list.
