Recruitment Fair for Teachers Planned

Teacher candidates looking for jobs are invited to a recruitment night sponsored by the office of the Ventura County superintendent of schools from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Participating school districts include Hueneme Elementary, Las Virgenes Unified, Moorpark Unified, Oak Park Unified, Ojai Unified, Ocean View Elementary, Oxnard Elementary, Oxnard Union High, Pleasant Valley Elementary, Rio Elementary, Santa Paula Elementary, Simi Valley Unified, Ventura Unified and the Ventura County superintendent of schools.
A recent survey shows that more than 500 teaching positions will be available next school year in Ventura County, according to Paula Lovo, who is heading the recruitment fair.
Teachers are especially needed for special and bilingual education in the lower grades.
Workshops will be given on state credentialing and fingerprinting requirements.
The job fair will be held at the Cowan Conference Center, 550 Airport Way, Camarillo. For more information, call Lovo at 388-4414.
