Sunrise Medical Inc. said it will close its European headquarters in Stourbridge, England, in February as part of a reorganization process designed to cut costs. The Carlsbad-based maker of medical products said its European manufacturing and distribution operations will be grouped into three regions centered around business in France, Germany and Britain and the executives will report directly to the company’s chairman. Sunrise is in the process of consolidating offices in the U.S. and Europe and converting to a new computer system. The company couldn’t be reached for further comment. The company said its fiscal second-quarter earnings fell to $431,000, or 2 cents a diluted share, from $2.5 million, or 13 cents, in the year-earlier period.
