Jean Amato of Irvine and her homeowners association are arguing over a 5-foot wooden cross Amato has placed on her patio.
* The association says Amato is violating community rules and has sued, claiming the integrity of the neighborhood is being damaged.
* Amato says the association is overstepping its bounds and is trying to keep her from expressing her religious beliefs.
