Calhoun to Lay Down the Law

Connecticut reserve forward Antric Klaiber, suspended last week after his arrest on a drunken-driving charge, will be allowed to practice today and to make a case for his full reinstatement.

Coach Jim Calhoun is scheduled to meet with Klaiber before today’s practice and go over the guidelines every player is expected to follow. Calhoun then will determine whether Klaiber, a 6-foot-10 junior, is ready to rejoin the roster for Saturday’s game against Rutgers.

“I said last week . . . that all of our student-athletes are aware of our expectations of them, both on and off the playing court,” Calhoun said. “I want to be sure that Antric truly understands that his actions . . . were unacceptable and that he also understands his responsibilities to our program.”

Klaiber is averaging 4.2 points and four rebounds.
