Santa Ana Mater Dei’s Kelsey Kollen hit a run-scoring double in the fifth inning that sent the top-seeded Monarchs on their way to a 4-1 victory over Chino Hills Ayala in the Southern Section Division I championship game Saturday at Mayfair Park in Lakewood.
Tia Bollinger, a sophomore, allowed four hits and struck out 10 for the Mater Dei (30-3).
Dorene Cerda hit a home run for Ayala (25-4).
