Six anti-government “freemen” ended their second hunger strike with breakfast in federal prison while their trial continued. The six were ordered to the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield after they stopped eating at a county jail in Montana on Sunday, a prison spokesman said. The men are among 12 members of the anti-government group accused in a 40-count federal indictment on charges ranging from fraud to threatening the life of a federal judge. The men didn’t explain why they stopped eating, authorities said. About two dozen freemen engaged in an 81-day standoff with the FBI before surrendering in 1996.
