Elgazzar, Murphy Pick Long Beach State

Goalkeeper Jihan Elgazzar of Kennedy High and midfielder Caitlin Murphy of Esperanza have signed letters of intent to play soccer at Long Beach State.
Long Beach will begin its first season of Division I women’s soccer this fall.

Matt Brooks of Santa Margarita will attend the Naval Academy, Eagle football Coach Jim Hartigan said.
Brooks was a first-team All-Sea View League defensive back for the Eagles, who won their second consecutive Southern Section Division V football title. He had 38 tackles and three interceptions.
