The Spice Girls gone gospel, R&B;, disco and ‘60s girl-group soul? In the hands of this British quartet, it’s less inviting than you might imagine. Though a bizarre remake of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Under the Bridge” is a bad novelty, the rest tries to recast retro as modern-day sassy. Eventually the uninspired music makes it all fall flat.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
