What a great idea: handing the ambient-global collaborations of Pakistani qawwal Nusrat and Canadian producer Brook over to such young Anglo-Asian dance club figures as Talvin Singh and Asian Dub Foundation. But even more than the hit-or-miss originals, these nine drum ‘n’ bass excursions rarely enhance the ecstatic, transcendent magic of Nusrat’s art.
