* Loara at Alhambra Keppel, 3 p.m. Monday: Loara Coach Diane Sweeny, who lost most of her players to graduation, leads her team against Keppel, the defending Southern Section Division I champion. Keppel is looking to win its eighth title in nine years.
* La Quinta at Century, 3 p.m. Tuesday: Two preseason top-10 teams will battle in this nonleague match. Century is led by a strong boys’ squad, including newcomer Hendy Yahya, who plays No. 1 singles and mixed doubles. Yahya blamed nerves for his loss to La Quinta’s Dung Huynh, the Garden Grove League champion last year, in the quarterfinals of the Garden Grove tournament in 1997. Century will need to do well in mixed doubles to get the victory.
