From Associated Press

This one will be hard to top, even for Ticha Penicheiro.

Old Dominion’s point guard had an NCAA tournament-record 14 steals, 15 assists, 22 points and just one turnover Friday night, leading the Lady Monarchs to a 92-39 victory against St. Francis at Norfolk, Va.

The steals broke the record set by Auburn’s Ruthie Bolton in the semifinals against Long Beach State in 1988, and the assist total was two shy of the mark set by Suzie McConnell of Penn State in 1985 and matched in 1986.

Nyree Roberts added 22 points and 14 rebounds for Old Dominion, which limited the Red Flash to 15 field goals in 58 attempts (25.9%), outrebounded them 52-37 and forced 27 turnovers.
