British Au Pair Seeks Right to Sell Story
- Share via
The British au pair convicted of killing a baby in her care has asked for permission to sell her story. In a motion filed in federal court in Boston, an attorney for Louise Woodward asked U.S. District Judge William Young to set aside an injunction that required her to notify a U.S. judge before selling her story. The motion came the same day the family of Matthew Eappen filed a claim for millions of dollars in damages. A jury convicted Woodward, now 20, of second-degree murder for Matthew’s death, but the trial judge reduced the verdict to manslaughter and sentenced her to the 279 days she had served since her February 1997 arrest.
