UC Irvine Women Lose in Exhibition

Freshman Cindy Oparah and junior Kirsten Cappel each scored 13 points for UC Irvine, but it wasn’t enough as Riverland (Australia) defeated the Anteaters, 64-60, in an exhibition women’s basketball game Wednesday night at the Bren Center.

Oparah also grabbed nine rebounds and Cappel had seven.

The Anteaters pulled to within two with 1 minute 11 seconds remaining, but the Raiders pulled away, led by Marien Lo, who had 24 points and 11 rebounds.

In the Golden State Athletic Conference women’s soccer semifinals:

Westmont 5, Southern California College 0--Five players scored for Westmont (14-3-1), which had a 3-0 halftime lead. SCC ended the season 10-6-2.

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Loyola Marymount 2, Cal State Fullerton 0--Alicia Davis had four saves for the host Titans (8-9-1).
