Marshall 22, Village Christian 20--Paul Tait scored on a three-yard run with 18 seconds to play and Ethan Forward recovered the ensuing onside kick, but the Crusaders fell short in an Alpha League game at Marshall.
After the onside kick, Neil Gunn completed a 13-yard pass to Tait with two seconds left but time ran out before Village Christian (2-7, 0-3) could call timeout.
Gunn completed eight of 15 passes for 198 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Forward made six catches for 159 yards, including scoring receptions of 42 and 45 yards.
Forward made his ninth interception of the season.
