KNBC Doctor’s Car Strikes Woman

An 88-year-old Burbank woman who was struck by a car driven by KNBC-TV’s Dr. Bruce Hensel remained in “extremely critical” condition Thursday at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, authorities said.
Pauline McClurg suffered severe head trauma in the accident at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday in the crosswalk of a Ventura Freeway offramp, Burbank Police Lt. Chris Welker said.
County-USC spokeswoman Adelaida De La Cerda said McClurg is in the hospital’s intensive care unit on a respirator.
An 81-year-old woman who also was hit suffered a fractured ankle and foot. She was treated and released.
Hensel has not been cited, and detectives are investigating.
