Janelle Doyle, a senior at Newport Harbor High School, has committed to play soccer at UC Irvine, Rich Doyle, her father, said.

Doyle, who can play striker or midfield, was a second-team All--Southern Section pick last season. She also was named the Sea View League’s offensive player of the year.
