Mistrial Declared in Molestation Case

POMONA — Jurors declared a deadlock Monday in the case of a Diamond Bar High School teacher accused of molesting a 15-year-old girl, and the judge declared a mistrial.
Christopher Cook, 41, was indicted by a grand jury in 1997 on 15 felony counts of lewd conduct involving the girl.
Cook’s contact with the girl, who is now 18, is alleged to have escalated from kissing to sex acts between December 1995 and June 1996, despite her objections.
The district attorney’s office has yet to decide whether it will seek to retry Cook.
