Orlandos Caps Orange Coast Rally to Defeat Cypress, 8-6

Orange Coast rallied from a six-run deficit, scoring eight runs in the final three innings to beat Cypress, 8-6, in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game Tuesday at Cypress.
Nick Orlandos hit a two-run single in the ninth that broke a 6-6 tie. Orlandos, Brandon Thompson and Adam Anderson each had two RBIs for visiting Orange Coast (20-14, 7-7), which has won eight of its last nine games. Shaun Larkin (two RBIs) and Adam Spiker led first-place Cypress (23-9-1, 10-4) with three hits each.
In other conference games:
Fullerton 2, Golden West 1--Fullerton starter Ken Chenard (6-1) pitched a three-hitter and retired 13 of the final 14 batters he faced for visiting Fullerton (18-16, 5-9).
Saddleback 7, Santa Ana 3--Jimmy Luster’s three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth broke open a close game and won it for host Saddleback (24-11, 9-7).
In Orange Empire Conference softball:
Golden West 7, Irvine Valley 0--Jenine Salamun gave up one hit, walked one and struck out seven in six innings for Golden West (15-16-2, 5-7). Linsey Cornell led off the first with Irvine Valley’s only hit.
