The City Council tonight will consider approving the specifications for a pedestrian tunnel beneath the railroad tracks on Ridge Route Drive; the Orange County Transportation Authority recently approved a $100,000 grant for the project. The council’s approval would clear the way for construction to begin on the long-awaited tunnel, expected to cost $400,000.
If approved, construction will begin this summer and should be finished in September.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 23161 Lake Forest Drive.
