Happy to Hear About Lakewood

After years of telling people where I live only to get a response of “Where’s that?,” it’s nice to finally see an article about beautiful Lakewood (“Birthplace of the ‘Burbs,” April 11).
Even as a child growing up in Norwalk, I imagined myself living in this city of well-kept houses with manicured lawns.
However, your writer was wrong in stating that “residents must buy [flood] insurance.” Only residents in specific areas within the flood plain were forced to purchase the insurance. Other areas, such as the one I live in, are exempt.
