* Daniel C. Lynch (“Admit It, Taiwan Is a Nation,” Column Right, July 29) says it all: If a country like Taiwan isn’t worth fighting for, what country would be? Indeed, an independent Taiwan offers the best model for the Chinese people to look up to. A free, market-driven economy that is as prosperous--if not more--as those of Singapore and Hong Kong; an open, democratic political system far superior to the authoritarian Singapore and to the handicapped Hong Kong, with her Communist boss in Beijing.
