Marooned at Venetian

Regarding your article “Faulty Towers” (Weekend Escape, July 25), about the Venetian resort in Las Vegas, I couldn’t agree more.
After being enticed by the slick advertisements and a phone conversation assuring us that the hotel was complete, I opted for the Venetian over the Bellagio on Father’s Day weekend. Although the beautiful room was ready upon our arrival, I found the hotel extremely disappointing, from the under-landscaped pool area to the close proximity to the Strip. The museum-like grand lobby area is pretty, yet completely void of seating or dramatic indoor greenery. All this and no breakfast buffet to boot! Sorry, Venetian, but thumbs down.
Two weeks later, I was lucky enough to go to Vegas again, this time “suggesting” to my boyfriend that we stay at the Bellagio. That gorgeous, lavish hotel did not disappoint.
