The Zodiac concludes its home season at 7:30 tonight against the first-place San Diego Flash at Santa Ana Stadium.
The Zodiac (15-10, 79 points) is in fifth place in the A-League Western Conference playoff race, five points behind fourth-place Vancouver. San Diego (19-7, 86 points) is five points shy of clinching its second consecutive Pacific Division title. The top eight teams in each conference make the playoffs.
San Diego and Orange County have split their first four meetings this season. The teams will play again Saturday night at San Diego, which recently topped the 100,000 mark in home attendance.
The Zodiac’s Steve Patterson was A-League player of the week last week for his hat trick in a 3-2 victory at Vancouver. Patterson leads the Zodiac with 17 goals.
The Zodiac concludes its third season Sept. 4 at El Paso.
