California Angels Care, a nonprofit foundation, and the Kiwanis Club recently awarded the city’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency a $25,000 grant for improvements to Flower Street Park, at Flower and 3rd streets. The grant will be used to resurface and improve the all-purpose court and install new picnic tables, benches and a fence. The money for the grant comes from the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation, which provides funding for qualified education, journalism, citizenship and community service programs.
