Bruce H. Engelhardt; Longtime Area Resident

Longtime Newbury Park resident Bruce H. Engelhardt died Sunday. He was 80.
Engelhardt was born Nov. 26, 1918, in Oak Park, Ill. He served in the Army during World War II and graduated from USC with a law degree in 1951. He practiced law for 47 years.
He was a member of a VFW chapter in Thousand Oaks and was active in Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newbury Park.
Engelhardt is survived by his wife, Mary Engelhardt of Newbury Park; two daughters, Cheryl J. Bybee of Agoura and Janet Oliver of Colorado; four sons, Bruce W. Engelhardt of Paso Robles, Dean L. Engelhardt of New York, Randy Jordan of Carpinteria, and Brent Engelhardt of Agoura; a stepsister, Katherine McClosky of Santa Monica; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newbury Park. Burial will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Valley Oaks Cemetery in Westlake Village.
Joseph Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura is handling the arrangements.
