Ah, to be 65, married and still in love. The Glendale Adventist Medical Center has a special valentine for those who are--an invitation to renew wedding vows and share lunch with other happy couples at the center’s Sweetheart’s Day Celebration.
The event, which is free, is being billed as an opportunity to “replace the Valentine’s Day hype with a celebration of love and commitment.”
The Medical Center chaplain, the Rev. Roy Gaton, will conduct the vow-renewal ceremonies, and Doug Neis, a marriage and family counselor, will share secrets with couples for maintaining their “healthy hearts” for years to come.
The celebration will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the medical center’s main auditorium, 1509 Wilson Terrace, Glendale. Couples must preregister. Only the first 45 married couples over age 65 who register can be included.
