A city councilwoman has called for a review of traffic flow and safety in the area of Chapman Avenue and Melody Lane after the death last month of Manuel Ayala, 51, who was hit and killed by a speeding car. The Public Works Department plans to hold a meeting to address the traffic and safety issue March 15.
Councilwoman Maria Moreno, who called for the review, hopes the residents who live along Chapman Avenue will attend. “Obviously, the problem is more serious than we thought,” Moreno said.
