SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

The Mission San Juan Capistrano will honor Abraham Lincoln’s role in returning the mission to the Roman Catholic Church in 1865, with a Saturday reenactment of the historical event featuring a performance by a Lincoln impersonator. A month before his death in 1865, Lincoln signed documents deeding the mission back to the Catholic Church after it had been seized by the Mexican government, mission administrator Jerry Miller said.
A historical display of Lincoln memorabilia, including the original deed, will be on display. Information: (714) 282-3022.
