Pacifica Routs Santiago, Wins League Title

Danny Dinh scored 18 points Thursday to help Pacifica to a 90-58 victory over visiting Santiago and a fourth consecutive Garden Grove League boys’ basketball championship.
The victory gave fifth-ranked Pacifica (25-1, 12-0) its best record in school history.
In other Garden Grove League games:
La Quinta 74, Garden Grove 44--Chris Smith scored 23 points for host La Quinta (16-8, 9-3), and teammate Matt Blanchard had 18. Both Smith and Blanchard had three three-pointers. Roland Quach had 14 points for Garden Grove. The victory advanced the Aztecs to the Southern Section playoffs.
Los Amigos 66, Rancho Alamitos 52--Isaac Hurtado scored 16 points to lead Los Amigos (16-10, 7-5) to a fourth-place finish in league.
In the Academy League:
Orangewood Academy 73, St. Margaret’s 70--Alex Huff scored 35 points to lead St. Margaret’s (12-9, 8-4).
In the Olympic League:
Calvary Chapel 71, Valley Christian 65--Brett Young led the Eagles to the league championship with 17 points, and Paul Welker came off the bench and contributed 16 points for Calvary Chapel (17-9, 10-2).
Valley Christian finished 17-8, 6-6.
In the Sunset League:
Esperanza 65, Fountain Valley 61 (OT)--Jon Steven (21 points) scored six points during Esperanza’s 9-5 run in overtime. Fountain Valley (16-9, 6-4) plays Esperanza (14-12, 6-4) again tonight at 7 in a playoff for third place at Huntington Beach.
