Five Old Town merchants Tuesday expressed their support for diagonal parking to the City Council, which decided to make the parking arrangement permanent. In March 1998, the council approved a temporary diagonal parking project in Old Town, which runs along El Camino Real between 2nd and 6th streets. Since then, the Tustin Old Town Assn., made up of area merchants, has surveyed the businesses and found that nearly two-thirds agreed that the parking arrangement should be made permanent.
