Gloria Jean to Open 30 More Stores Abroad

Diedrich Coffee Inc.’s said its Gloria Jean’s Coffees unit has signed an agreement with a food service company to open 30 stores in Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore. Financial terms of the agreement with TT Resources BHD in Malaysia were not disclosed.
Gloria Jean already has 14 outlets in Asia.
Irvine-based Diedrich said the additional stores will be opened over a five-year period.
Diedrich acquired Gloria Jean’s in July when it bought Coffee People Inc., a Castroville-based specialty coffee chain that owned the 281-unit Gloria Jean’s chain.
