Needing only to defeat St. Bernard on Friday night to win the Angelus League championship, Harvard-Westlake (5-4, 2-0 in league play) will be facing a severe challenge because of injuries.
Defensive back Danny Kahn is out for the season after breaking his ankle last week against Serra. Also likely out Friday is running back Lerato Simelane, who suffered a high hamstring pull. Backup running back Austin Scott is questionable because of a sprained ankle.

It’s a homecoming of sorts for two Notre Dame junior defensive backs, Michael Luderer and Jimmy Sharp, who transferred from Crespi this season.
Luderer and Sharp will face some old friends Friday night in a Mission League game at Crespi.
“It’s going to be fun,” Sharp said. “I’m looking forward to playing against my old teammates.”
While Notre Dame (8-1, 2-0) can win the league title with a victory, Crespi (1-8, 0-2) is suffering one of the worst seasons in school history.
The Celts could have used Luderer and Sharp. Both have three interceptions.
