Fortune Brands to Buy Boone International

Fortune Brands Inc. agreed to buy Corona-based Boone International Inc. Terms were not disclosed. Closely held Boone makes bulletin boards, markers and other products used in presentations. It expects sales of $56 million this year. Boone will become part of Fortune Brands’ office products business, which sells Day-Timer calendars, Swingline staplers and Apollo overhead projectors. Old Greenwich, Conn.-based Fortune Brands shares closed down 13 cents at $33.44 on the NYSE.
