Actress Sentenced for Firing at Property

Former “Happy Days” actress Roz Kelly was sentenced to three years’ probation Wednesday for shooting up her North Hollywood neighbor’s property in retaliation for being awakened by a noisy car alarm.
The original charges against the 57-year-old defendant--which included shooting at an unoccupied vehicle and into a residence--could have landed her in state prison for more than eight years.
Instead, Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Darlene Schempp heeded the advice of corrections officials, ordering Kelly to undergo psychiatric counseling and pay $3,880 in restitution to two of her neighbors.
“I think the sentence was appropriate,” said Deputy Dist. Atty. Karen Rizzo. “This was an isolated event, and the monitoring system the court has put in place will ensure that this won’t happen again.”
Kelly, best-known for her role as Fonzie’s sexy biker girlfriend Pinky Tuscadero in the 1973-84 television show, was arrested after authorities said she armed herself with a shotgun and a pistol, opened fire on two cars, then walked up to a neighbor’s apartment where she smashed a window and fired into the living room.
The neighbor was not at home, and no one was hurt in the incident. Kelly pleaded no contest in July to one count of shooting into a residence.
Kelly explained she was awakened the night before by a car alarm and was annoyed because she suffers from chronic knee pain, which a series of surgeries has failed to correct.
