MINNEAPOLIS — Curtis Brown rushed for 112 yards and four touchdowns in 19 carries to help two-time Southern Section champion Paraclete defeat Minneapolis De La Salle, the top-ranked 3-A team in Minnesota, 37-24, on Friday night at Benilde-St. Margaret’s Stadium.
Brown scored on runs of three, one, 10 and six yards.
Michael Washington had 222 all-purpose yards for Paraclete, including a 73-yard touchdown run and a 76-yard kickoff return that set up Brown’s final touchdown.
Rod Malone had 141 yards in 19 carries including a 53-yard touchdown for the Islanders, ranked eighth in the Midwest by USA Today.
Dominique Sims carried 14 times for 95 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown for De La Salle.
